Sensor & Simulation-Based Fire Suppression
RTSync is proposing with a team of University and Industry partners to implement a three-level approach for integrating wildfire modeling and simulation research with the sensor system.
|Level I||Support cost-efficient sensor placement based on fire risk maps and fire spread probability map.|
|Level II||Early fire detection provided by the sensor system is critical for generating timely resource dispatch plans and thus reducing fire suppression costs.|
|Level III||For large-scale fires, the real time sensor data are assimilated into on-going simulations to reduce uncertainty in fire front location and direction to focus suppression efforts more effectively and efficiently.|
An example of wildfire simulation with sensor network is shown in the following movie clips.
