DEVS is a mathematically backed theory of Modeling and Simulation designed for correct and consistent execution of System of Systems. The DEVS framework naturally sets up well for frameworks of T&E and V&V for seamless testing and mapping to the real (so called "base") system being modeled. In an end-to-end framework, DEVS can help the user with design, testing, data collection, data analysis, and redesign.
ParaDEVS (or Paratemporal DEVS) is a tree expansion based simulation framework for the study of stochastic/randomized models. ParaDEVS builds on the baseline theory of DEVS by using models implemented within the DEVS Markov modeling framework. In short, DEVS defines the models and ParaDEVS is a way of fast and efficient simulation of those models.
Stochastic models characteristically have the issue of a very (sometimes infinitely) large scenario space of which sampling is traditionally used to study statistical events. ParaDEVS uses a tree expansion algorithm along with Systems Theory concepts to efficiently generate all possible scenarios while limiting combinatorial explosion. The result is 100 (sometimes 1000+) times speed up of data acquisition along high resolution data for more informed decision making.
LLM-Assisted DEVS Modeling is the process of using an LLM to assist in the development of DEVS models. This significantly enhances the efficiency of the requirements engineering process and saves around 90% of the amount of time it would have taken if the DEVS models were created manually.
